Miscellaneous information
- A biographical/music-study PDF exists, The Songs of Luigi Gordigiani (1806--1860), "lo Schuberto Italiano". (Thomas M. Cimarusti (2007), published by Florida State University, 236 pages) and can be read online here. That may serve for biography link as well (biography starts in some detail on page 10 though as noted by Cimarusti "biographical information on Gordigiani and his family is somewhat scarce.")
Father of the painter Michele Gordigiani (1835-1909). Michele's daughter Giulietta Gordigiani (1871—1957), a pianist, married Robert Mendelssohn (1857-1917) a banker and art collector. Francesco von Mendelssohn (1901-72), a cellist and art collector, also known as an eccentric, was their son. For a time Francesco was a member of the Klingler Quartet.
