- Quite possibly a brother or close relative of Otto Forberg (violist of the Heckmann Quartet, and publisher) and (August) Robert Forberg (publisher, 1833–1880), and someone about whom it should not be difficult to obtain biographical information indirectly thereby.
- Lived in Dusseldorf, and active as a cellist in the Schumann circle in the 1840s. He was the father of Carl Ernst Forberg (1844-1915), an artist.
