Kammermusiker, Cellist, Organist, geboren in Stuttgart, Studium der Evangelischen Kirchenmusik in Esslingen von 1952 bis 1955, danach von 1955 bis 1961 Violoncello-Studium in Stuttgart. Seine berufliche Laufbahn als Orchestermusiker am Cello begann er bei den Hofer Symphonikern, von 1973 bis 1996 spielte er dann hauptberuflich im Philharmonischen Orchester des Mainfrankentheaters Würzburg. Seit 1981 bis Anfang 2024 unterstützte er zudem regelmäßig den sonntäglichen Gottesdienst der Estenfelder Kirchgemeinde an der Orgel. „Musik ist nicht schmückendes Beiwerk zum Gottesdienst, sondern – ganz im Sinne Johann Sebastian Bachs – selbst Verkündigung des Evangeliums. Deshalb ist es immer mein Anliegen, dass Wort und Musik im Gottesdienst gut zusammenspielen.“
