Miscellaneous information
- Likely the son of Giuseppe Agus. Separating the two composers seems to be tricky; it would seem that the younger composer is the Joseph Agus who in 1778 was convicted of attempted rape of his godchild the 11-year old Elizabeth Weichsel (later Billington). He then fled to France, where he may also have gone under the name of Henri Agus. He became maître de solfège at the Paris Conservatoire in 1795.
