Extra Information | This was a sub-library of Breitkopf & Härtels Klavier-Bibliothek. The 2-piano section contained several hundred works, mainly arrangements by all the major arrangers of the Wilhelmine era: Kruger, Reinecke, Naumann, Hermann, Burchard etc. See the cover of Sonata, Op.17 (Krause, Anton) for a full list. In his foreword, Krause explains that the series is intended for intermediate level young pianists (Schüler von mittlerer Fertigkeit). Thus the works have been simplified. He aims to contribute to young musicians' mental development (geistliichen Förderung der musikalischen Jugend). |
