History

Peter Short (d.1603) was an important early printer of music in London in Elizabethan England. Most of his output was books, but he published some important musical books and scores, such as Thomas Morley's A Plain and Easy Introduction to Practical Music and both Canzonets, Dowland's First book of Songs, Holborne's Cittharn School, and Hunnis's Seven Sobs. However, his firm only operated for six years (1597 to 1603).
