Hofmeister's Monatsbericht (1910), p.39 - first? appearance in HMB ? A solo piano arrangement with plate 8564+4 is @ Modern French pianoforte album (published by White-Smith in 1898.) (An arrangement by Roques for 2 pianos published in 1897 is also available from Gallica; an arrangement by the composer for piano duet was published in 1886. The key of both is A-flat major.)

How do we know this was originally for 2pf8h? Seems to have been for piano solo and duet (co-publication) originally on the evidence.
